WNBH Clinicians, Students and Staff

WNBH has a varied group of fully licensed clinicians, provisionally licensed clinicians, student-clinicians, and interns, to address our client needs. We are delighted to introduce some of them to you here:


Cate

Catherine Jones-Hazledine, Ph.D.

Owner, Clinic Director, Supervisor,& Psychologist

Catherine Jones-Hazledine, Ph.D., or "Dr. Cate" as most of her clients know her, is a Licensed Psychologist with more than 25 years of clinical experience. Dr. Cate was trained at the University of Chicago and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and worked as an Assistant Professor with the Munroe-Meyer Institute at UNMC for seven years prior to leaving to start Western Nebraska Behavioral Health in 2011. In addition to her clinical work,  Dr. Cate is actively involved in training new clinicians and frequently does presentations and training on a variety of topics. As a native of rural Nebraska herself, Dr. Cate understands the specific challenges and concerns of rural life and is committed to finding workable solutions for individuals and families.


Lauren

Lauren (Coffey) Steube, Ph.D.

Assistant Clinic Director, Supervisor, & Psychologist

Lauren (Coffey) Steube, Ph.D. is a Licensed Psychologist who specializes in working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Dr. Lauren graduated from Oklahoma State University with a doctoral degree in School Psychology and completed her pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship with the Munroe-Meyer Institute at UNMC and WNBH. She has been with WNBH since 2017. Dr. Lauren has extensive knowledge and experience working with clients who have ADHD as well as with providing parent training and support. She leads our assessment clinic, providing thorough evaluations and recommendations to help guide treatment. She also has experience providing school-based services. Dr. Lauren is also actively involved in training new clinicians and is an adjunct professor at Chadron State College, teaching graduate level counseling courses.


Mike

Michael Steube, Ph.D., LIMHP, CPC

Clinic Coordinator, Supervisor, & Clinician 

Michael Steube, Ph.D. is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner and Certified Professional Counselor who specializes in working with clients in the LGBTQIA+ community and has a focus in Telehealth-based services and technology integration in counseling. Dr. Mike received his clinical training from Chadron State College and received further training from the Munroe-Meyer Institute at UNMC and WNBH. He recently completed his Ph.D. in Counselor Education from Oregon State University. Dr. Mike has been with WNBH since 2019 and is actively involved in training new clinicians and frequently does presentations and training on a variety of topics. In addition to providing counseling services, Dr. Mike is a lecturer at Chadron State College and an adjunct instructor at the University of Nebraska - Omaha, where he teaches graduate level counseling courses.


Tara

Tara Wilson, Ph.D., LIMHP

Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner

Tara Wilson received an MAE in Community Counseling from Chadron State College, and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Wyoming. She serves as graduate faculty at CSC in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program and sees clients part-time at WNBH. Dr. Wilson works with individuals across the lifespan and has been part of our school-based Mental health work. A native of western Nebraska, Dr. Wilson comes from a farming family and has particular understanding and expertise in issues faced by our rural agricultural individuals and families.


Angie

Angela Snyder, M.A., LMHP

School Mental Health Liaison & Clinician

Angela Snyder (Angie) is a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner who specializes in working with children, adolescents, and adults. In addition to her clinical work, Angie has worked in our local consolidated school system for many years, providing school-based mental health services. Angela received her training from Chadron State College and received further training from WNBH. She has been with WNBH since it opened in 2011, and worked with the Munroe-Meyer Institute at UNMC prior to that. Angie is a native of rural Nebraska and is committed to providing services for our communities.


Jackie

Jacqueline Buhr, M.A.E., LIMHP

Clinician

Jackie Buhr is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner. She holds a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Chadron State College, and completed her internship training with WNBH, under the supervision of Dr. Cate. Jackie staffs our clinics in Crawford, Chadron, and Rushville. She also provides telehealth services and has experience providing mental health services to students in the school settings. Jackie is a lifelong rancher and is FarmResponse Certified by the AgriSafe Network. She recognizes the important role of faith in well-being, and integrates faith traditions into her counseling work.


Michelle

Michelle Haynes, M.A.E., PLMHP

Clinician

Michelle Haynes is a Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioner, who works with children, adolescents, and adults. Michelle received her Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree from Chadron State College, and completed her internship training with WNBH, under the supervision of Dr. Cate. She works in our Alliance and Rushville clinics, and also sees clients by telehealth. Michelle is a native of western Nebraska and proud to be serving the members of her local communities.


Erica

Erica Escamilla-Pfeiffer, M.A.E., PLMHP

Clinician

Erica Escamilla-Pfeiffer is a Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioner, who works with children, adolescents, and adults. Erica received her Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree from Chadron State College and completed her internship training with WNBH under the supervision of Dr. (Coffey) Steube. Erica’s theoretical orientation focuses primarily on cognitive behavioral therapy and its third-wave counterparts, emphasizing mindfulness, nonjudgemental acceptance, and value-based living. As an ethnic minority and native rural Nebraskan, Erica values providing services to local rural communities with a multicultural lens.


Isna

Isna Patel, M.A.E., PLMHP

Clinician

Isna Patel is a Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioner who works with children, adolescents and adults. Isna received her Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree from Chadron State College and completed her internship training with WNBH under the supervision of Dr. Cate. She works in our Rushville and Chadron clinics, and also sees clients by telehealth. Isna also provides care to local students through our school-based mental health clinic.


Ryan

Ryan Lovell, M.A.E., PLMHP

Clinician

Ryan Lovell is a Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioner and a lifelong resident of western Nebraska. Ryan earned a MAE in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Chadron State College and completed his internship with WNBH under the supervision of Dr. Michael Steube. Ryan has over twenty years of professional experience in education, having taught music and theater throughout the Nebraska Panhandle. His background in education and the performing arts informs a relational, strengths-based approach to counseling that emphasizes personal growth, self-awareness, and resilience. Ryan is open to working with individuals from all backgrounds and life stages. He recognizes the importance of identity, lived experience, family systems, and community context in mental health and well-being, particularly within rural settings.


Savannah

Savannah Singer, M.A., PLMHP

Pre-Doctoral Intern

Savannah Singer is a Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioner, who works with children, adolescents, and adults. Savannah is finishing her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at California Baptist University. She is currently completing her pre-doctoral internship with the Munroe-Meyer Institute at UNMC and WNBH, providing rural behavioral health care. Along with providing counseling services, Savannah also conducts psychological evaluations. She has experience working with individuals with disabilities as well as the Deaf and hard of hearing community.  


Danielle

Danielle Coleman, M.A.E., PLMHP

Clinician

Danielle Coleman is a Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioner who earned her MAR in Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree from Chadron State College. She completed her internship with Midwest Country Clinic and Valentine Community Schools, providing care to clients across the lifespan with an emphasis on school-based mental health. Raised in rural Nebraska, Danielle values community, connection, and authentic care. She is passionate about helping clients navigate life's challenges, build resilience, and move toward meaningful growth and healing.
